So good 😊

I’ve learned a lot of things this year that might seem shocking to some other Christians but I don’t for one second find them blasphemous. To assume that we know all there is to know about the universe our Father created is extremely self-righteous, among other things.

Thank you. I do not know the streams from which everyone finds themselves here, so I am always cautious about what I share! Thank you for receiving me and my journey, Leslie. Life is God is an ongoing, ever-widening circle. I have so much to learn.

I am like you and when I start writing, I think I am going one direction, and when I end up somewhere else, I am surprised and glad with where it went. You make me think of the Bible verses on hospitality.

This image of God makes me cry. Sometimes I forget that They are also in the place I love the most. Also, THE FOOD PICS ARE EVERYTHING🤌😍

I cried when I was writing it. This image came up again for me yesterday in our Spiritual Direction cohort. Jamie was directing, I was the directee, and Monica was observing. I could not not share it.

You had me picturing and remembering my precious Grandma standing in her kitchen with her apron on baking love. One of the things that was so profound to me in The Shack is how God was portrayed as a black woman because in reality the man had never known love from anyone else and she represented unconditional love and acceptance to him. I believe God reveals himself to us in whatever way we need him to so we can fully grasp his love for us. We are known by him and he longs to have communion and break bread with us.

Yes he does. It is a wild and glorious thing to know God loves us, Tracy. Wild and GLORIOUS.

This is good stuff. I feel the warmth of God in this and I'm glad you put God in a woman...we must discuss The Shack ; ) And now I want homemade bread and a big ol' pat of butter (more please thanks).

Yep. The Shack. My first introduction to God as Mother. I read it at the pool but I hid the book in a magazine. Oh, the Southern Baptist shame I felt. 😂👏🏼

This is beautiful. To be known and loved and nurtured. That is the heart of what we are desperately hungry for. I remember an interview with Martin Sheen talking about why communion mattered so much to him, and he described how moving it was to be at the rail - all of us. All ages and stations in life, and we are all hungry. No matter who you are. And we go to God and we are fed. This essay right here is a word picture of that love. Thabk you for sharing it with us. 🍞 🍷

OH MY WORD... I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!! The tenderness with which you describe the love of God is SO moving.

I wrote the following in my journal for this prompt. "I LOVE bread. I LOVE pasta. I will take and eat them anytime and when we are in heaven both will be served at every meal." (Not at all tender, but it's the absolute truth. ;-)

There is so much about this post that resonates with me. Especially food around the table, knowing and becoming known over a meal. And bread. I actually started making sourdough bread for the first time last October, and I haven't stopped! I've been pleasantly surprised at how good it has turned out almost every time (and now that I wrote that, we'll see what happens with my next loaf...).

I started writing with you in November, but too much life got in the way, so I stopped. I hope you'll do the prompts again...they encouraged me to at least try. I'll be reading and waiting and hoping...and making bread. I'll dedicate my next loaf to you, Lori. 😊
