I have a second job interview today. It is also Elli’s 24th birthday, her boyfriend is here for a long weekend, I drive to Virginia on Monday, and the girls start high school on Tuesday. I will miss their first day of school.
I have never missed a first day of school.
It goes without saying that I am overcome with big feelings about all of life. To anyone reading who might be considering stacking up 87 big life changes into less than a year’s worth of time, I advise against it. Especially if you’re in your late 40s. And most definitely if you’re a girl. Just don’t do it.
I have forgotten what hunger feels like. Thad and I are still in the “meeting others and eating out” stage of life at Fellowship. Last night before dinner at Mi Cocina, I sat in the car and visualized what it might look like if I just drank Topo Chico while everyone else ate dinner. Would that be weird? Would I ruin the night?
